Adoptive Parents

This program serves families interested in private domestic or international adoptions. FamilyCore is committed to providing you with contemporary adoption information and education in order to make your adoption experience a success. We provide adoptive home studies, pre-placment training, and post-placement services for our clients. Our role is to provide clients with direction and support, and to be a resource for adoption-related information.

For domestic adoptions, staff members provide birth parent counseling and comprehensive placement services for adoptive families working with FamilyCore. We can assist with interstate adoptions when adoptive families have identified a placement outside of the State of Illinois.

For international adoptions, FamilyCore provides comprehensive home studies and post-placement services for adoptions from both Hague and non-Hague countries. FamilyCore works in collaboration with various international placing agencies, who assist adoptive families in the adoptive placement. We provide pre-adoptive training classes for families adopting internationally to complete during the home study process. For families utilizing the home study services of FamilyCore, the training is required; this training is also open to families completing a home study through a different agency.

*Please note our upcoming training class has been scheduled for families beginning the international adoption process. This class is conducted in a group format and held approximately once every quarter. The upcoming training will be held in three sessions on March 6, March 13, and March 20 of 2012.
