Family to Family
FamilyCore employs a Community Liaison to assist the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) in developing community partners in order to deflect children and their families from entering the child welfare system. A critical component of this program is the Team Decision-Making Meeting (TDM). This process begins when DCFS determines a child is at risk of removal from their home due to possible abuse, neglect, or dependency. A TDM involves the family and its support systems, DCFS staff, and community members who have volunteered their time to be involved in this process. At the TDM, all attempts are made to keep the family together while maintaining the safety of the children.
