JEAN AND RICHARD COGGINS RECEIVE VOLUNTEER AWARD Peoria--Nov. 22, 2006--Jean Coggins and her son Richard, who live near each other on Linn St. in Peoria's central bluff, are recipients of the 2006 CFS Duane and Polly Heward Volunteer Leadership Award. Rev. Jim Phillips, president of the Heart of Poeria Neighborhood Association, said, "Jean and Richard Coggins are very deserving of the Volunteer Leadership Award. I have had the pleasure of working with them on numerous projects to improve our neighborhood and have observed them going above and beyond what is expected." Counseling & Family Services's Knoxville Outreach Center is in the neighborhood where the Coggins reside. In addition to helping beautify and stabilize the area, Jean has volunteered for the CFS after school program and served on the CFS People Connect advisory committee for two years. The award is named for long-time Peoria volunteers Duane and Polly Heward and is intended to recognize those who quietly volunteer their time to benefit others. Previous recipients are Dr. David Gorenz and Richard and Deloris Morris.
