Counseling and Family Services

Community Support

Counseling & Family Services (CFS) receives support from many organizations and individuals in the Tri-County area.

United Way

The Heart of Illinois United Way provided funding in FY 2008 to help provide counseling services, after school and summer programs, services for single parents, and a program at White Middle School to help students avoid suspensions.

Funding support also comes from United Way campaigns in Pekin, Washington Eureka and Chillicothe.

CFS applies for a variety of government, foundation and business grants each year.  Recent grants have been awarded by the Community Foundation of Central Illinois, Alliance for Families and Children, Office Depot, AmerenCILCO, Department of Children and Family Services, the City of Peoria, Caterpillar Inc., CEFCU, Illinois Mutual and National City.

CFS holds two major fundraising events each year, a walk and fun run in January and a golf outing in August.  Businesses and individuals participate through sponsorships and entry fees, helping to raise additional funds for our services and programs.

Throughout the year businesses and individuals contribute to CFS to help with special needs, such as school supplies and activities for children in foster care.

We value all the contributions we receive, both monetary and the time given by our many volunteers.  Together, we all help make life better for hundreds of individuals and families, many of whom do not have the financial means to pay for the services and programs  that are so important to them.

Thank you.
